Community eligibility provision

CEP at OCSD

February 26, 2024 - Thanks to a change in certification requirements for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program, effective January 1, 2024 all students at: Beavercreek, Candy Lane, Gaffney Lane, Holcomb, and Redland elementary schools, as well as the Bridges to Independence program are able to receive school breakfast and lunch at NO COST.

Adult meals will still be available for purchase: $2.75 for breakfast and $5.50 for lunch.

Previously, under the CEP program, OCSLA students were eligible for free meals and will continue to be eligible. The certification Oregon City School District reached just prior to winter break will allow a mid-year certification of the *above schools that will remain in place through the 2026-27 school year.

Please note that each meal comes with milk. If your child only wants milk and not a school meal, or would like an additional milk, milk may be purchased for $0.60.  Students are not allowed to charge a milk.  Payments can be made by cash or check to the school or online at http://www.mymealtime.com/

Outstanding balances accrued prior to January 1, 2024 are still owed. If you have questions regarding your student(s) account balance, please email dawnett.williams@orecity.k12.or.us or call her at 503-785-8440 x 7712.

We encourage families to have positive balances in their meal accounts to allow their student(s) to purchase milk and / or second meals. Families may request that funds be transferred to a student’s account who has a negative balance and is unable to pay or request a refund of their student’s account balance.

We are excited about this change and the opportunity it provides to ensure more students have access to nutritious food during the school day.
